Modern dating had become exhausting. Successful professionals were spending hours swiping, messaging, and meeting people who didn't share their values or intentions. In 2024, we began interviewing doctors, engineers, entrepreneurs, and other professionals who were frustrated with the dating landscape. They weren't looking for casual connections. They wanted meaningful relationships with people who shared their ambitions and values.

But existing platforms treated relationships like transactions. Swipe left, swipe right, move on. No verification, no intentionality, no support. We listened to hundreds of voices: professionals across Mumbai, Bangalore, and Delhi who were exhausted by catfishing, shallow conversations, and feeling invisible. Their pain became our purpose.

What if we built something different? What if we prioritized quality over quantity, intentionality over impulse, and long-term success over short-term matches? That question became Pinnaya. We built answers: verification because you deserve to know who you're talking to, human matchmakers because algorithms can't understand the way your eyes light up when you talk about your dreams, progressive disclosure because your privacy isn't negotiable.
