Our story
How we started, where we are, and where we're going.
The beginning
Pinnaya was born from a simple observation: modern dating had become exhausting. Successful professionals were spending hours swiping, messaging, and meeting people who didn't share their values or intentions.
In 2024, our founder Yugam Jethi started having conversations with friends—doctors, engineers, entrepreneurs—who were frustrated with the dating landscape. They weren't looking for casual connections. They wanted meaningful relationships with people who shared their ambitions and values.
But existing platforms treated relationships like transactions. Swipe left, swipe right, move on. There was no verification, no intentionality, no support. Just an endless stream of profiles.
“What if we built something different? What if we prioritized quality over quantity, intentionality over impulse, and long-term success over short-term matches?”
That question became Pinnaya.
Our journey
This is more than a company. This is a promise we made to ourselves—and to you.
The night I stopped pretending
I sat alone in that café, scrolling through another empty conversation. "Hey, how's it going?" "Good, you?" "Same." Silence. Again. I looked around and saw the same exhaustion on other faces—people going through the motions, hoping this time would be different. My phone buzzed. Another match. Another profile that looked nothing like the photos. Another person who wasn't serious. I closed the app. For the last time. That moment, something broke open inside me. Not anger. Not frustration. Something deeper: a quiet, fierce determination. This isn't how love is supposed to feel. And if no one else was going to fix it, I would.
When hundreds of voices became one
I spent every day that quarter listening. A doctor in Mumbai, crying after being catfished for the third time. An engineer in Bangalore, exhausted from endless first dates that went nowhere. A teacher in Delhi, who just wanted someone to see her—really see her—not swipe past her in two seconds. Their pain became our purpose. Their stories became our blueprint. We didn't build features. We built answers. Verification? Because you deserve to know who you're talking to. Human matchmakers? Because algorithms can't understand the way your eyes light up when you talk about your dreams. Progressive disclosure? Because your privacy isn't negotiable. Every decision was made with their voices in our heads, their trust in our hands.
The months we obsessed over details
We tested every button. Rewrote every message. Redesigned every screen. Not because we're perfectionists. Because we know what it feels like to be disappointed. To show up with hope and leave with that familiar ache. So we asked ourselves, over and over: Would this make someone feel seen? Would this make someone feel safe? Would this make someone feel hopeful? We stayed up late. We argued. We cried. We laughed. We built something we'd be proud to show our mothers. Something we'd trust with our own hearts. Because if we were going to ask you to trust us with something as sacred as finding your person, we had to be worthy of that trust. Every pixel. Every word. Every moment.
The moment we've been waiting for
Here we are. After all the late nights. All the doubts. All the moments we wondered if we were crazy to think we could change something this broken. We're opening our doors in Ahmedabad and Mumbai. Not to thousands. To hundreds. Because we're not here to scale fast. We're here to get it right. Every person who joins us is placing their hope in our hands. Their vulnerability. Their belief that maybe, finally, this time will be different. We don't take that lightly. We can't. So we're starting small. Starting intentionally. Starting with people who understand that finding love isn't about volume—it's about finding the one person who makes all the waiting worth it. This is where it begins. This is where we prove that love doesn't have to feel this hard.
The future we dare to imagine
I close my eyes and I see it. A couple, three years from now, at their wedding. They met on Pinnaya. They'll tell their story—how they both almost gave up. How they were tired. How they found each other anyway. I see hobby clubs where people connect over shared passions, not just profiles. I see couples who met through us, still growing together in our community, still choosing each other every day. I see a platform where every decision is made with one question: Does this help someone find real, lasting love? Not matches. Not dates. Love. The kind that makes you feel like you finally came home. The kind that makes all the waiting, all the disappointment, all the heartache worth it. That's what we're building. That's what we're fighting for. And we're just getting started.
What we believe
Authenticity first
Every member is verified. No fake profiles, no catfishing, no compromises on authenticity.
Human connection
Technology enables, but humans connect. Our matchmaking agents curate matches based on values, not just algorithms.
Privacy matters
Your data is yours. Progressive disclosure means you control what you share and when.
Long-term thinking
We measure success by lasting relationships, not swipes or matches. Quality over quantity, always.
Ongoing support
From first hello to lasting partnership, we provide support, counseling, and community.
Intentional growth
We grow deliberately, never compromising our values for scale. Excellence over expansion.
Where we're going
Our vision is ambitious: to become the trusted platform for meaningful relationships in India and beyond.
We're expanding our matchmaking services, building deeper community features, and partnering with relationship experts to provide even better support. We're adding more cities, more hobby clubs, and more ways for members to connect authentically.
But we'll never compromise on our core principles. Every new member will be verified. Every match will be thoughtfully curated. Every relationship will receive ongoing support.
“We're building something that lasts—for the relationships we help create and for the platform itself.”
Thank you for being part of our story. Together, we're proving that meaningful connections are still possible in the digital age.
